Joanna's rustic Stylized maternity session

Last fall, Joanna (a photographer herself) and I sat down together to talk about her maternity session. I shared with her my vision for a stylized maternity shoot. She was on board right away and even suggested the perfect location for our the shoot. Needless to say, I was excited! I had wanted to put together a stylized session for a really long time and it was actually one of my goals for 2013, so it felt great to actually accomplish this milestone!

Stylized sessions require lots of planning. From finding the right theme (one that will suit my style and the client's personality), to putting together moodboards that can visually explain my clients my creative vision, to finding the perfect wardrobe (even if it means making it from scratch!), to scouting the right location, getting a make up artist, an assistant...I could go on and on. It's definitely lots of work, but the final photographs make it all worth it!

This mommy-to-be was so stunning and such a great model! I LOVED working with her! I also want to thank Sarah LeAnn of Web of Love who did Joanna's hair and make up and my friend Kellie for assisting me during the shoot.

I hope you enjoy the images!
